The DJ's behind Concrete Djz became involved with electronic music around the year 1997 with the emerging clubscene in Belgrade. Soon after, love towards music pushed them further with sound exploration and will to start their own story. Since the official forming of Concrete Djz group in 2003. they are responsible for numerous organized parties in Serbia, continuing to do so today aswell. In this time period Concrete Djz could also have been heard at various venues throughout their homeland Serbia, aswell abroad, in countries like England, Wales, Macedonia, Brazil, Italy, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia … spreading the underground sound. Style is TECHNO, free of boundaries yet defined, ranging from dark beats to pounding grooves, as they combine the most diverse elements of the sound into a whole with an edge on power, intelligence and hard working mixing. Filterheadz (BEL) - NightVision Techno PODCAST 33 Pt. 2 Bio: Filterheadz are best known for their smash techno hits Sunshine & Yimanya as well as their highly energetic DJ performances. It all started somewhere in the 80’s when brothers Bert & Maarten Wilmaers picked up their first musical instruments. Bert on guitar & Maarten on drums. Influenced by The Police, U2 & Simple Minds they took their first steps on the way to Rock ‘n Roll stardom.... Well not exactly. After a decade of hammering away in rehearsal rooms and local stages their dream to become rockstars took a surprising twist. Almost by accident they discovered the groovy rhythms of US House Music, influenced by Roger Sanchez, Masters At Work & David Morales the boys started experimenting with loops and disco samples. Their very first US style house tracks saw the light. Armed with those tracks, the boys approached Belgian record company Headroom Music who saw the potential and took them under their wings. After a few releases under several monikers, they decided to go with ‘Filterheadz’, with the idea of releasing some more ‘Filter Disco’ records…things turned out slightly different. Two things happened almost simultaneously. First there was their remix of Minimalistix 'Struggle for Pleasure' that turned out to be an instant classic in the progressive house scene. Prolific labels like Hooj Choons, Platipus, Bedrock, Yoshitoshi and Renaissance stood in line to call upon their remix skills. The second, and most important thing: They discovered Techno. Together with Belgian DJ Tomaz they embarked on a Techno Journey that would eventually lead them to Carl Cox’ Intec where they released their all time classic “Sunshine”. Two years later they would take their signature sound even further and release “Yimanya”, another big hit. In the mean time extensive tours took Filterheadz to every corner of the globe and placed them high on the bill of events like I love Techno, Dance Valley & Tomorrowland and headlining clubs like Zouk, Womb, Ministry of Sound, Fabrik (Madrid) and so on. Their remix engine kept running full steam: Green Velvet ‘La La Land’, Eddie Amador ‘House Music’, Delirium ‘Silence’, Faithless ‘I want more’ and Eric Prydz ‘Call on me’ just to name a few. Further releases like Cartagena & Endless Summer showcased their unique blend of techno beats and melodies. The balance started to shift, less Techno & more melodic. Although tracks like “Day at the beach” & “Everything explained” on Sander Van Doorn’s label proved to be successful, clearly something was missing... Looking back at their history and inspired by their heroes Marco Bailey & Carl Cox they decided it was time for a change. The Phoenix rises from the ashes. 2012 not only marks the 10th anniversary of Sunshine and a release of a smashing remix package on 1605. It also marks the return to techno. Michael Burkat (DE) - NightVision Techno PODCAST 32 Pt. 3 Bio: Michael Burkat had his first experience with Techno in the early 90's; but first contact with electronic music in the 70`s and 80`s with Bands like Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, J.M.Jarre, Joy Division and DAF. A few years later, in 1994, he traveled to the Tribal Gathering Party to Munich and from this night on, Techno became to one of the most important things in Michael's life. After being taken over by the sounds of House and Techno, Michael had his first residency in a small techno club in Dortmund, Germany. There he played his weekly set of House and Techno. At the end of 1996, Michael started working at the Dortmund based record store named Channel Jam. From his good work for the record store and his club-residency, Michael attracted the attention of "Undercover Music Group" and in April of 1999 he was hired as A&R for Fine Audio Recordings to continue the brilliant work Chris Liebing did. Later in 1999 , Michael founded Compressed to create a platform for new talents and well known producers as well. September brought Michael`s first release on Fine Audio. He teamed up with London based Marco Lenzi (Molecular) for his first 12inch on Fine Audio, which was engineered by Henry Cullen. Michael worked together with Henry Cullen for a few releases and in early 2000, Michael built up his own Studio and began to work as an engineer. After a successful 3 ½ years work as A&R of the UCMG labels Fine Audio, Touch Tone and Compressed, Michael decides to take his own path and separate from UCMG Germany in December 2002. He's continued developing his production and Dj-skills over the years and is now successful in his own work with his very own labels Bound, Temper and Goodfellas. Michael Burkat has grown in stature over the last 10 years and have been produced quality techno with support from DJs around the world. With releases on well known labels like Primate, Planet Rhythm,Fine Audio, Heroes, Contrast, Patterns, Bound and many others, he is still a part of the worldwide techno scene. This scene has seen many producers come and go but Michael has mutated his distinct sound over the years to keep listeners interested. Due to the first Techno movement occurring at the beginning of the 90..s they drew their attention to the electronical sector.
