Damon Wild (PL) - NightVision Techno PODCAST 59 Pt. 2 Bio: Damon Wild’s musical career started off as a DJ playing a range of musical styles from Kraftwerk / Cabaret Voltaire / New Order to early acid house on his home town radio WTUL in New Orleans. It was in 1990 when he moved to NYC to become a key player in the underground techno scene. While working at local record stores, Sonic Groove & Vinylmania, Damon released his first EP “Unleash the Groove” on the legendary Strictly Rhythm stamp. After several releases on various labels, Damon built his name as a producer of hard, dark acid and synth-fuelled techno stompers. As Experimental (EX) was being set up as his first record label in 1992, Damon hit it big with the rave anthem “Rave Generator” under the group name Toxic Two. The tune reached the top ten in the UK charts and was his biggest commercial success. Even though Experimental records were relatively short lived, it was crucial in showcasing the talents of artists like Freddie Fresh, Tim Taylor and Woody McBride. It was then that Damon set up his second label, Synewave, and he still continues to run it and record for it successfully. On Synewave, Damon released some of his biggest underground tunes, such as “Bang the Acid” and “Afghan Acid”, both recorded with UK’s Tim Taylor. At the same time he was signing other producers to the label: Woody McBride, Freddy Fresh, Mark Bell (LFO), Joey Beltram, Heiko Laux, Steve Stoll, to name a few. In 1988, Damon released his first full length album “New Electronica” under the alias Morph (produced with Dennis Ferrer). Damon was also heavily producing solid minimal productions such as “Avion” and his Subtractive Synthesis series. After more than 15 years dj’ing and producing in the USA, Damon decided to move to Europe in 2001, where he released his second full album “Color Theory” for the Belgian based Music Man stamp. With some EP’s in between, 2004 witnessed his third full album “Downtown Worlds” on the German Kanzleramt stamp. With releases on all these labels (Code Red, Strictly Rhythm, Buzz, Reload, Music Man, Kanzleramt, Synewave, ?!) Damon Wild keeps crossing the globe for new inspiration. Damon Wild is well known for his experienced dj style ranging from underground acid, classic techno, pumping minimal to the latest in new electronic sounds from around the globe. Ranieri aka Mario Ranieri (AUT) - NightVision Techno PODCAST 58 Pt. 2 Bio: Mario had his first experiences with music during his childhood days. He played the piano and received influences in electronical music through his cousin who looked after him. Mario made musical experiments with his computer and created his first technotracks. At the end of grammar-school he started to work and bought his first real synthesizer, and after some time got more and more equipment. He went on to now produce more professionally which was important for him. He is today Austria's most famous hardtechno-producer and dj and continues to release innovative music on his labels Schubfaktor, Schlagwerx, Vernacular, Ostarrichi and Girlpower and on other labels such as Fon, Lifeform, Artillery, Abstract, Highball, Carnage, Subsounds, Friendly Fire, Tausendgroove and Tekktribe. Robert Babicz (DE) - NightVision Techno PODCAST 57 Pt. 2 Bio: Robert’s musical output is inspiring and staggering. A true one-man operation, he writes, records and performs solo; commanding an ever-expanding touring schedule, tailoring the music he creates to the cities he visits. But that’s only part of the puzzle, Babicz's art is comprised of more than just his music. He films everything. Using his music to open doors and build relationships with people in only the way music can, he then records his experiences and interaction on film, both still and moving, later editing the images together as a picture track to his audio. Robert creates short films that capture the emotions, colours and feel of his trips, his music and the people he finds who want to be part of that experience. In turn these then also have an effect on his music colouring his emotive, unique take on electronica with a very human feel. KillSwitch (HU) - NightVision Techno PODCAST 56 Pt. 4 Bio: For the first time in 2002 october26 he had the opportunity to play at Independence party series in the Budapest-based Kashmir Underground under the name G-Rock. However the real break-through was in year 2004 when the name Killswitch and the legendary hard techno party series New Generation of Hard Techno was born. In the same year Killswitch met Reset, and they started making music together. Thanks to the many positive feedbacks they sent their first work "Dirty Sweaty" to legendary techno icon DJ Rush, who kept asking for more and more tracks from the hungarian duo, he played many of these on major parties and festivals world wide. As a result they caught many labels' attention including Sven Wittekind's Inflicted Records, which gave them the opportunity to release their first album. Later on they released their second album in Tobias Lüke aka O.B.I.'s Tekktribe. His career as a producer, organizer and dj was at the highest, he played practically in all major hungarian clubs (Highlander, Alcatraz, Zenit, etc.), and he also had the opportunity to play in Hungary's one of the greatest electronic music event Mayday in 2005 and 2007. Year 2006 had brought also huge success for him as he could perform for huge crowds beyond hungarian borders. After the first gigs he and Reset was invited to DJ Ocram's booking agency called Combat Skill, where they were not only counted as DJ's but Ocram also released two of their tracks. In 2007 he created his own label called NGOHT RECORDS which is the one and only hungarian hard techno label that released vinyls. He played in countries such as Holland, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Checz Republic, Poland, Austria, in major festivals like Defqon 1 (Holland), Decibel Outdoor (Holland), Cloud 9 (Holland), Mayday (Budapest), Code (Spain), Montagood (Spain), H2Zone (Spain), Apokalypsa (czech Republic), Woodshock (Slovenia), Renesanz (Bulgaria). In 2009 hard techno seemed to reach its peak, that's why they decided to finish the legendary NGOHT party series since without having motivation in hard techno they did not want to repeat themselves and play the same old tunes over and over again. All in all with the end of NGOHT Killswitch finished his career as well, and after leaving the world of hard techno behind he decided to continue searching for his very own tunes and sounds and until that his work shall continue under his alterego named Bamse without any boundaries in the electronic music scene.
